December 3, 2023, the Heart of Texas Figure Skating Club will host its second annual World Ice Skating Day with a spectacular community event in San Antonio, Texas. The Heart of Texas FSC will once again partner with Rotary Ice Rink of San Antonio to hold a free outdoor ice skating performance for the public entitled “The Heart of the Holidays”. It will be featured in local media outlets and on various social media platforms. Upon entering, Heart of Texas Figure Skaters will greet the crowds with free goodies, such as candy canes, US Figure Skating chapstick, US Figure Skating bag tags, US Figure Skating stickers, as well as a table with programs featuring World Ice Skating Day information and also information about the figure skating opportunities available to anyone in South and Central Texas, from San Antonio to Austin. As an added perk during the show, the Heart of Texas Figure Skating Club will plan to give away goodies and 3 free ice skating sessions to the lucky winners from the crowd. Prior to the day’s event, the Heart of Texas Figure Skating Club will post World Ice Skating Day information on its social media platforms, the venue’s social media platforms as well as the social media platforms of the Rotary Club. The Rotary Ice Rink is an outdoor seasonal ice skating rink located in Downtown San Antonio’s Travis Park and is open for ice skating from November through January. The show will feature holiday performances by Heart of Texas FSC members including solos, duets and group ensembles. After the show, the skaters will take the ice with members of the public for open skate to offer tips and tricks for ice skating in full promotion of the sport and WISD’s mission.
